Love. Love. Love.

"We always believe out first love is our last and our last love is our first."
Okay, so day 3 is to write about my first love. Except this might be kind of difficult beacuse I'm not sure I have ever been "in love" with someone. I know I have loved people, but I have never experienced that "in love" feeling people talk about. But, I have never wasted my time on a guy long enough to fall in love. I mean, high school relationships never last, so I have never really seen the point in them. Another reason is that I'm not interested in dating a boy, I want to date a man. So I can wait until I find a guy who sweeps me off my feet, and then I promise I will blog about it just to make up for this lame post. :) I've always imagined though that I'm gonna know when I meet the perfect man and have that perfect first date and when I get back from that date I'm going to call my mom and say "I found the man I'm going to marry." Will that really happen? Probably not. But a girl can dream right? :)

Do you still feel like you know what you're doing?

"I was beginning to see, though, that the unknown wasn't always the greatest thing to fear. The people who know you best can be riskier, because the words they say and the things they think have the potential to be not only scary but true, as well."
- Sarah Dessen, Just Listen

Okay, so day two for this challenge thing is to explain the meaning behind my blog name. So this should be mildly interesting. Basically, I read this book called Just Listen Sarah Dessen (Amazing book, by the way) and there were a few quotes in it that just stood out to me, one of them being "And So It Is.." I just liked it because, even though everything in the world was going wrong in the characters life, she just nodded and said "And so it is." There are so many things in life that we can't change, no matter what we do. And negative things are always going to happen to us, that's life. But it is how we handle these things that makes a difference, we can allow negative things to hold us down or we can rise above those things and use them as fuel to help us grow. At the end of the day, though, there really is nothing else you can say except "And so it is.", you did what you did and know you are where you are. In my opinion, that's a wonderful thing, to be able to just accept things and move on and keep in mind that we each control our own destiny.

On a side note, I read something really cool today, via Twitter, I might add! Here it is:
"The Chinese use two brush strokes to write the word 'crisis'. One brush stroke stands for danger; the other for opportunity. In a crisis, be aware of the danger-- but recognize the oppurtunity"
-John F. Kennedy

Who wouldn't be encouraged by that quote?

30 Day Challenge Thingie

Okay, So I saw this 30 Day Challenge thing on some other blogs and I thought it'd be a good idea since I generally have nothing interesting to blog about. So here goes... Day 1-- Introduce, Recent Picture, and 15 Interesting Facts!

Well, obviously, my name is Mallory. I love excitable people. People who laugh until they cry and cry until they laugh. I love giving advice and helping people during their moments of weakness and then watching those people survive and grow. I love driving with the windows down with a huge box of french fries from Popeyes and singing really loud. I hate traffic and I get frustrated when people don't know how to drive. I'm happiest when I'm with my family because they are truly amazing and know every little piece of me, yet they couldn't love me more. I love encouraging people and speaking life into people with the hope that they may seek God because of my words. I love music. All kinds. I hate Sunday afternoons when everyone is being lazy and I have nothing to do. Oh, and I love pretzels from the mall. :)
15 Interesting Facts:
1. I play guitar and piano. It's sort of my creative outlet and I feel like God uses it to capture me a lot of the time. Music is how I spend time with God a lot of the time and praise him.
2. I have the most amazing family on the planet, hands down.
3. I cannot sing. At all. Like, I've tried learning and all that but it hasn't worked out for me. I'm just not capable of singing well. But that's okay!
4. I love all Apple products. Like, if Apple made paper and called it iPaper and it was 10 times the cost of regular paper, I would probably buy it. I'm a fanatic.
5. I try to be nice to everyone. If you want to be my friend, all you have to do is like me. :)
6. I love the Razorbacks. Love.
7. I love my car. It's green. It's pretty. It's fast.
8. Contrary to popular belief, I'm not a spoiled brat. I work, I paid for my car, and I pay for a lot of the things I have. Granted I did get blessed with wonderful parents who work hard to supply me with nice things.
9. I love Jesus. He's my best friend. When everyone else in my life gave up on me, he caught me and rescued me.
10. I want to change the world in a BIG way.
11. I don't care what people say about me. What people think is what they think and me caring or being mad or sad about it isn't going to change their opinion of me, so I could really care less.
12. I don't drink. I don't smoke. I'm not into the whole party scene. And that is considered weird in our society, go figure.
13. I get tired of boys very easily. I don't see how marriage is ever going to work out for me. But my Prince Charming is out there somewhere and someday he will sweep me off my feet and I'll never get tired of him. :)
14. I try to be the kind of friend who constantly encourages and forces you to believe in yourself. Sometimes thats what we need most in life; a friend who believes in us.
15. I have big dreams. Dreams that are going to change this world. Dreams that people have told me I'll never accomplish. All I have to say is, watch me.

Failure Isn't An Option

"I never want to change so much that people can't recognize me"
-Taylor Swift

So I love Taylor Swift. Granted I've never personally met the girl, her story inspires me and everything about her inspires me. Its nice to see someone who is real in a world of all the fake things and fake people. I was actually watching a documentary about her tonight and what I love the most about her is that girls hated her in school. I mean hated her, she had no friends and they were mean to her because she didn't want to be a "typical" teenager. I can relate to that, and I feel like if she can achieve becoming a Platinum artist with all the cards stacked against her, I can definitely accomplish anything I want to.

But on a side note, today was a pretty uneventful day to be quite honest. I really have way too much time on my hands now that I'm finished with school for this semester. But it gives me just enough time to get tired of being bored so I'll have motivation for my first semester at Harding. Anyways, that's all I have to say today so I guess this is good night. Also, there's a Razorback game tomorrow so don't forget to wear red. G'night. :)

Social Networking.. Ugh.

So Facebook has been getting kind of boring lately. And so has Twitter. And Myspace got boring a long time ago. So, I decided maybe it was time to start blogging. I'm not so sure that I have much to say that will interest people but hey, it's worth a shot, right? :-)
